eastward expansion of nepali language into the gandaki basin
Hindi, Bengali, and Maithili are languages like Nepali, all evolving from Sanskrit, so they didn’t shape Nepali. It mainly developed through Sanskrit and Pahari languages through Khas. Outside Khas and Newa groups, hill communities in Nepal are mostly Tibeto-Burman, so Tibeto-Burman influence is little bit more relevant than others, unless someone puts a proper citation.
